Footprint Introduction

 Description: In this project it was an introduction to the class where we shared 5 or more things to get to know each other. On my footprint I put a watermelon because I love fruit, I put a sun and towel because I enjoy going to the beach, I put my nieces' names, I enjoy going on walks and Starbucks.

Extension Activity: This is a great example of an ice breaker activity. You can use to measure desks or objects around the room to use for math.

 My Top 5 Photos Line- I was out on a hike with my mom and found that the trees were ice covered and it worked great for the concept of line. Asymmetrical- I have had this Vera Bradley bag for years now and it is the perfect example of asymmetrical because if you cut it in half, it would not match the other half. Movement- I was almost into my driveway when I found the sunset to be very gorgeous so I took a photo. If you take a closer look the tree and objects are blurry. Color- This is a photo was taken in Norway and the painting on the building is a great example of color! Emphasis- When I took this photo it was the perfect example because Sophie is the focal point.

Van Gogh Integration Activity

 Description: We first learned about the artist and his famous painting of “The Starry Night”. We learned about all the characteristics of the painting by Van Gogh. We were asked to do a project that was similar to the painting by the artist Van Gogh. The tools that we used for the completion of the project were construction paper, oil pastels, tissue paper, and glue. The first thing that I did was glue different colored tissue paper to my black construction paper to make a textured background for my painting. This glue had to dry overnight, so the next day I got to cut my front scenery for my painting. Since I wanted mountains in my painting, I cut mountains out of my black construction paper and glued it to the bottom of my background. Galaxies

 Description- We began our lesson by learning about galaxies, including their characteristics and the types available. Later on, we learned about six watercolor techniques. In addition, we were able to experiment and practice with all of them. Once we gained enough knowledge about galaxies as well as the watercolor techniques, we were allowed to come up with an artwork of our own galaxy, incorporating at least three watercolor techniques. I opted for the crayon resist technique for the creation of stars, whorls, and constellation. Moreover, I drew mountains at the bottom portion of the paper using the black crayon. The dominant color of my painting is purple, and thus, I painted the background with it. Towards the end of the galaxy, I used the wet-on-wet technique and incorporated various colors of blue.
